Visual search technology for browsing large image collections
Pixsta has created advanced visual search and browse technology that enables online customers to search products by appearance alone. Consumers can conduct a visual search across multiple images and then refine the results quickly via simple clicks. Images are analysed across multiple attributes and contextually matched to results from Pixsta’s image database.
Currently concentrating on various retail categories, Pixsta’s technology enables online retailers to advertise via product images and permit contextual matching on all attribute levels, resulting in higher sales conversion rates. Its vision is to become the de facto standard entry point for visual search and browse on the web.
Established in 2006 and based in London, Pixsta supplies its technology to e-commerce retailers and online publishers such as magazines, social networks and video publishers . Pixsta is also trial ing its own branded, consumer-facing retail websites ChezImelda (shoes) and Bagsta (bags).
Eden invested in Pixsta’s A round in September 2007 alongside seed investor Straub Ventures.
